The location of this hotel was absolutely stunning, nestled in the hills with beautiful views. The cottages were well-decorated and had all the necessary amenities. The staff were friendly and created a welcoming atmosphere. The pool area was fantastic, with plenty of loungers and a separate pool for kids.
The access to the hotel was a bit challenging, down a rough track. Some of the cottages were situated on a steep hill, making it difficult to walk up to them.

I stayed for four nights in early September with my wife and three small children. It really is a beautiful place; the cottages are well-equipped and comfortable, the taverna is great, the pool is nice and the setting in the mountains is perfect. We made excursions to several nice beaches and other places from the hotel, and while you have to drive a bit there are a lot of options within a hour's drive or so. More than anything we appreciated the warm welcome of Manos and the other staff who looked after us in a way we have rarely experienced in a hotel, and were always generous with their time in giving us advice on where to go or just chatting to us and the children. Their pride in the place is very clear and I can strongly recommend it!

We very much enjoyed our time at Eleonas. It is in a peaceful idyllic location. The cottages are well designed and very clean. The breakfast's are great and there is the possibility to have half board meals which are also very good. The staff and service is very friendly. It is a great location for walking in the mountain area and for visiting the Minoen sites such as Phaistos and Gortyes. The owner has a walking map of the area which is very helpful. The location is about 45 minutes drive from Iraklio where one can visit other sites and museums of interest. Eleonas also has a small pool and table tennis. The dining and restaurant patio areas are lovely to spend time in. It is a bit like spending time in Eden.

We loved the stunning location nestled amidst rugged mountains. The hotel offered a variety of suggested walks and day trips, making it easy for us to explore the area. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful cottages, each tastefully decorated in a rustic style. The private terraces with sun loungers were perfect for relaxation. The pool area, surrounded by olive trees, provided ample shade and enough sun loungers for all guests. The hotel staff were friendly and provided useful maps and guidebooks for exploring the surroundings. The breakfast options were excellent, with a good selection of hot and cold choices, including freshly squeezed orange juice.
Almost perfect.

A beautiful quiet location in an area of spectacular natural scenery. The owner was helpful and very informative about the area. A free, well prepared map of the area helped to enhance our enjoyment of our stay. The on-site taverna offered home cooking at a reasonable price.
It was a long steep climb from the main building up the hillside to our cottage. Ok if you are young and fit but for us, after a large dinner and lots of free raki, it sometimes seemed a bit daunting.

Verry nice location, in the mountains of Crete. Situated in the center of the island, it is a perfect location to explore all the areas of the island. You can do in the same time mountain exploration and to go to the beach (half an hour driving from the hotel). The owner was a perfect host and the food was excelent. Highly recomended!!!

Eleonas has a dream location just outside Zaros in the Cretan hills, near the Zaros Gorge. The weather in June was perfect. Hot but with the occasional cooling breeze. The hotel is a series of detached, superbly equipped cottages. The views from the mezzazine bedroom were stunning. Great walks in every direction, plus an offshoot restaurant, owned by the hotel, on the nearby small lake. Excellent traditional Cretan cooking in the al fresco restaurant. But what really makes the place special are the lady head waitress, Mandor, who was funny, friendly and very efficient, and the manager who did everything to make our three day stay so memorable. Would go back tomorrow if we could. Randall & Christine Butt.
We only had three days when we would have liked to stay for a week!!

Everything was perfect - the peaceful location, the hospitality of Manolis and his staff, the private and spacious cottage, and the delicious food at the Taverna. We'd also recommend the walk up the Rouvas Gorge which starts at the lake.. Beautiful.

This is a nice break from the tourist resorts. An authentic and relaxed atmosphere in an wonderful surrounding. The cottages are exceptional and you can see from the first moment that Manolis has put a lot of work into it and the attention to detail is outstanding. The food was great and made up of authentic local cuisine dishes. This is a family business and the staff was super. We really enjoyed our stay there.
Although I am very picky I cannot find any fault at all!
